    Estudio Lean six sigma en los procesos de corte y confección de la empresa D'Christian – Maryuri

    This study aims to develop a Lean Six Sigma approach in the cutting and sewing processes of D'CHRISTIAN – MARYURI, focusing on the production of women’s underwear, SKU 425. The DMAIC methodology is applied alongside statistical tools such as X-R and U control charts, time studies, Takt Time, Value Stream Mapping, and Six Sigma metrics. Data collection spans four months, employing contour measurement, defect counting, and the assessment of waste and transportation. Results highlight significant process capability issues, with Cp values of 0.53 for size 40 and 0.52 for size 44, indicating the system’s inability to consistently meet quality specifications. Variability stems from a lack of standardized procedures, operational fluctuations, and machinery inconsistencies. The analysis identifies improvement opportunities in waste reduction and workflow optimization. This study establishes a robust baseline for corrective actions aimed at enhancing productivity, reducing defects, and ensuring conformity to quality specifications. The findings lay the groundwork for process standardization and achieving a more efficient and competitive manufacturing environment.

    Modelo lean & green para la reducción de desperdicios en la empresa Dayantex

    This work studies the washing and dyeing process of Stone type jeans in a company in the Pelileo sector called Dayantex, this focused on proposing practices that benefit the reduction of waste Lean & Green, the study was carried out under the quali-quantitative approach because the information gathering was through questions and interviews, and also acquired data from the process through diagrams and calculations. Also, an applied research was carried out since possible solutions are proposed, through the documentary bibliographic research was known about the subject of study, also the possible tools to control each waste were designated and finally with the field research evidence was taken, 5S audits to know the state of the company and to have an idea of the processes or activities need to improve. This was how by choosing the most demanded product through an ABC analysis, the flow of the value chain was studied with the VSM, which gave a baseline for the development of the study and define the waste and therefore the tools that could improve processes and times. With the proposal of the 5S, Poka- Yoke and Jidoka, it is sought to reduce certain unnecessary transports, which are present in all processes, in addition solutions are proposed to avoid defects in the garments, with this a VSM was designed where the cycle time of the activities was reduced, after the improvements are executed. Finally, it was concluded that through the use of Lean & Green tools, significant improvements can be made in the industries with the commitment of all collaborators

    Modelo lean manufacturing para la eliminación de desperdicios en la empresa Curtiembre Aldas

    This project presents a proposal for implementing Lean Manufacturing methodology at Curtiembre Aldas, located in the Tungurahua province of Ecuador. The company specializes in transforming cattle hides into finished leather for footwear and clothing. The main focus of this proposal is to eliminate non-value-adding activities, targeting key wastes such as unnecessary movements, excessive transport, and waiting times. Through the use of Lean tools, these issues within the company were addressed effectively. The research suggests the application of the 5S methodology to improve workstations by introducing manuals and systems for order and cleanliness. This approach aims to minimize time lost searching for tools or cleaning equipment, resulting in a significant 35.6% improvement compared to the company’s initial performance. As part of the SMED methodology implementation proposal, internal activities were converted into external ones, effectively organizing the necessary tools and equipment at the workstations. This led to reduced machine changeover times: from 25.83 minutes to 15.11 minutes on the splitting machine, from 68.44 minutes to 46.54 minutes on the trimming machine, and from 31.42 minutes to 19.06 minutes on the fleshing machine. Following the implementation of both methodologies, noticeable improvements were achieved in the production processes of Curtiembre Aldas, particularly in the ribera area.

    Aplicación de herramientas lean manufacturing en el Taller de Innovación y Desarrollo Tecnológico FISEI

    This research proposes introduction of Lean Manufacturing methodology in the facilities of the FISEI Workshop to reduce generated waste on its areas. To achieve the general objective of improving the internal conditions of the FISEI Workshop based on the development of lean manufacturing methodology, three stages were carried out: first, a process mapping was conducted to establish the internal activities of workshop, identifying waste classified as waiting times, excess inventory, unnecessary processes, and unused talent generated because arbitrary work. Second, using weighted factors method, 5S methodology was selected to improve internal conditions of plant based on the identified waste, implementing changes according to use of red cards that allowed carrying out all proposed actions. Finally, the sequence of activities of processes in FISEI Workshop was established through development of work instructions. It was concluded that the company improved order and cleanliness conditions under the principle of eliminating unnecessary objects and through delegation by the Committee which conducts periodic audits to ensure compliance with the standardization of 5S methodology.

    Mejora de la productividad mediante herramientas de manufactura esbelta en la producción de helados

    Activities that do not add value to the final product and directly affect the productivity of a company are considered waste, this is due to the lack of control or monitoring methods. Lean Manufacturing is a methodology that focuses on minimizing waste through the tools you have at your disposal, it is based on three steps which are: selection, identification and reduction or elimination. The Ivonndy Ice Cream company, is looking for new techniques that allow it to improve its production processes and manage resources efficiently. The main objective of this project is to propose Lean Manufacturing tools that improve productivity in the single flavor ice cream line, based on the selection of the most indemand product using the ABC methodology, the study of times allowed to determine which processes restrict the productive capacity, the value stream mapping (VSM) was used to identify wastage and finally a proposal was developed with the tools: 5S and standardized work. An implementation guide was developed for the 5S tool and formats for control and monitoring were established, as for the standardized work tool, improvements were evidenced by combining some activities, as for the operations ratio, a significant increase of 16.90% and 24.81% was observed in relation to time and the use of standardized worksheets was proposed, which will help as a guide to the workers

    Análisis de la metodología lean manufacturing para mejorar el proceso de faenamiento en el Camal Frigorífico Municipal de Ambato (CFMA)

    The activities that do not generate value, cause waste that may be present in the processes and that affect productivity, therefore, this research project focuses on the development of an analysis of the Lean Manufacturing methodology in the process of slaughtering pigs of the Camal Refrigerófico Municipal de Ambato (CFMA), since, the company does not have tools that allow it to diagnose, reduce or eliminate unproductive activities. The research has a quantitative approach, based on the calculation of numerical variables with the application of diagnostic, operational and monitoring tools of the Lean Manufacturing methodology. An initial diagnosis of the process was made, with the collection of information, using Industrial Engineering tools such as: process diagram and analytical course, describing activities, machines and inputs. A time study was developed to identify abnormalities of each process, by determining the number of samples by General Electric and timing of the activities with the back to zero method, to design a current VSM as a Lean Manufacturing diagnostic tool identifying: the activities, the times that add value and not to the process Waste was determined as: censing movements, incorrect waiting and processes, in addition, the potential causes of waste, to propose solutions with the operational tools, proposed as: 5S for the order and cleanliness of the areas, eliminating activities that do not add value to the process, and standardization to propose the reduction of incorrect processes based on work instructions and simulate them in the FlexSim 2019 program. It is concluded that the process has 30.35% of activities that do not add value to the process and affect productivity. Therefore, the process does not meet the company's specifications and improvement actions are required.

    Estudio de tiempos y movimientos para la mejora de la producción en la empresa textil Ram Jeans

    Time and motion study is a tool that, when implemented, provides benefits such as the reduction of execution times of the activities and the increase in production in the areas of industrial manufacturing, basis that characterizes this methodology is the elimination of waste and increase production, considering that into organizations problems occur frequently and activities flow tends to be interrupted, that’s why it is necessary to standardize and reduce waste generated. The textile company "Ram Jeans" that is dedicated to the industrial production of jean pants, saw fit to improve the deficiencies that it has regarding disorder, poor control of waste, times, waiting, interruptions, transportation and unnecessary movements that are restrictions for the productivity. This research project objective of proposing lean manufacturing tools and an improvement plan for company's production benefit, reducing waste, which after analysis was identified as: waiting, unnecessary transport and inventories. Collection of information with surveys application, interviews and the study of times as a first analysis, established the current productive situation, areas, threads, activities, resources, etc., later the diagrams and manufacturing tools helped to identify activities that restrict the flow of the process and the production capacity in the company. To recognize the waste of the manufacturing process, VSM map was applied, through this tool the information corresponding to the activities that add and those that do not add value was obtained, in addition, operational tools were applied to improve the performance of the company. SMED implemented the reduction of times regarding waiting and unnecessary transport, 5S methodology maintained order and cleanliness of the workstations. Reduction of times in clothing area had a decrease from 7.1 minutes to 5.03 minutes, which is equivalent to an improvement of 29.15%, in addition, its production capacity increased from 1,248 u/month to a production of 1,440 u/month, equivalent to an improvement of 13.33% complying with the proposal to improve production.

    Mejoramiento de la productividad en el área de confección aplicando herramientas de manufactura esbelta en una empresa textil

    The purpose of this research project is to make a proposal to improve productivity in the company BOMAN Sport from the use of lean manufacturing tools: 5S, Kanban and standardized work, in the production process of semi-professional football uniforms, with the purpose of reducing or eliminating the waste found. In order to accomplish this purpose, information was collected using industrial ngineering tools such as: analytical course and time study, with which the current state of the production process in question was identified, For the identification of the existing waste, the VSM value flow mapping was used, which identified: unnecessary waiting, movement and transport. In the same context, an improvement proposal was formulated with the three tools mentioned, through 5S it is proposed to maintain order and cleanliness, with the tool Kanban aims to improve the workflow in the productive processes with more waste. Finally, through standardized work, a proposal is established to reduce activities that do not add value to the production process, with which the cycle time would be reduced from 17.53 to 15.26 minutes per unit, which in percentage represents an improvement of 14,84% improvement. In terms of production capacity, the simulation of the current and improved process was used in the FlexSim software, which shows that the production capacity of the entire production process would increase by 11 units per day, representing 7,96% improvement while the company’s productivity would increase by 7.51% from 3.46 to 3.72 within the company’s flagship product.

    Adoption of the lean manufacturing philosophy is currently seen as a necessity since it is a differentiating and successful element to ensure high competitiveness in the market. LIWI medical, an Ecuadorian company dedicated to the manufacture of orthopedic footwear at national level, presents a lack of control over its value chain and production processes, wasting the maximum of its capacity, creating a negative impact on its production costs, productivity. Therefore, the objective of the research project focuses on a proposal for improvement through appropriate lean manufacturing tools, which will have a positive impact on the footwear production line by reducing waste and thus improving its capacity. Using industrial engineering tools, information is gathered to determine the current situation of the company and, above all, to identify and describe the production activities. To find the waste, the value stream map is applied to establish the activities that do not add value to the process. For the selection of operational tools, the hierarchical analytical process methodology is used, showing that the tools with the greatest impact are: 5s and quick tool change, which allow reducing or eliminating waste. Likewise, a simulation model of the process is designed in the FlexSim program, with the improvement proposals. The results show that the application of lean manufacturing tools improves process efficiency by reducing the takt time by 30.28%, achieving the production of 45 pairs per day, representing an improvement of 22.86%, with a productivity of 1.30, which improved by 2.36% compared to the current situation, improving the production system

    Manufactura esbelta para la optimización de los procesos postcosecha en una empresa florícola

    This research project was carried out with the main purpose of optimizing the postharvest processes of a flower growing company through lean manufacturing tools. This was executed through the fulfillment of certain stages within the investigative process: Stage 1) the fulfillment of an analysis of the current situation of the company's postharvest production processes, through the collection of information using tools such as: interviews, aimed at operational personnel; the indirect observation for the identification of the resources, materials and the stages of the process that intervene in the elaboration of bouquets of roses; the study of times and movements to determine the flow of work; the study of the standard time in a process cycle (150 stems); the current production capacity within the area; and, the waste or changes present in the process; Stage 2), which consisted of the analysis of waste, the evaluation of certain Lean Manufacturing tools and the selection of the most appropriate LM tools that will minimize or eliminate this waste, considering certain predominant factors such as ease of implementation, support of the senior management, the residues attacked, the background of the application of the LM in similar industries and the impact on the postharvest process itself; Y, Stage 3), in which a proposal for the implementation of the selected tools (5S, Visual Management and Standardization) was proposed for the reduction of operational waste and the improvement of processes, procedures and activities aimed at the post-harvest production of roses. of the export. Finally, through this research project, focused on process optimization, it was possible to design 3 implementation guides according to the tools selected within the evaluation process. That is to say, the company acquires applicable models of each tool, considering the critical points, factors, zones and times in which it is necessary to minimize localized waste within the flower post-harvest process.
